Jot the Robot
Jot the robot was one of my first characters created back in 2018, he represents a child like wonder and was originally used in some of my artworks relating to my anxieties faced around social and enviromental issues.
Jot the friendly robot is an animated character that is being used in Suffolk to help start a conversation with children of primary-school-age (children aged 5-11 years old) about the importance of talking about our feelings when we feel sad or worried.
The Jot the robot campaign resources below provide a fun way to assist parents, carers, primary school teachers and educational settings in supporting children and young people with emotional literacy (managing difficult emotions).
The campaign included animated videos, posts, leaflets and the popular “15 Tips to help children when they’re feeling sad or worried.”
We carried out workshops at Primary and SEND schools in Suffolk, where students were encouraged to build their own well-being robots out of recyclcling they had collected from home. These models were then turned into illustrations and sent back to the schools.
